How long have you been with Internetrix?

Gosh, it’s been six months already—time flies.

What brought you to Internetrix?

Well it’s kind of a long story. Hailing from the ‘Great White North’, otherwise known as Canada, I’ve been in Australia for just over two years now. First here to complete my Master of Journalism and do some travelling, I fell in love with the country and just sort of stayed.

What does a Master of Journalism have to do with marketing and communications at a tech company you ask? Well, to go back in time a little, I attended the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario to complete my Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Media, Information and Technoculture. While I’m still trying to figure out what “technoculture” is exactly, I spent four years in the late 90s and early 2000s pondering and exploring the nature and impact of information technologies on the world.

Upon graduation I spent some time travelling and eventually settled into a job at RBC Financial Group in Toronto. Working for two years as a Research Analyst for the eBusiness department of the bank, I researched and wrote about cutting edge technology trends such as CRM, knowledge management and much more, keeping the bank up-to-date with the latest technology trends.

So long story short, when I completed my Masters and realised I wanted to stay in Australia, I started the job search. Marketing and communications at a company like Internetrix seemed like a perfect match for my skills. My technology and journalism background has made me the ideal communications girl around the office!

What’s it like to be a member of the Internetrix family?

Being a member of the Internetrix team has been a very unique, and dare I say fun, experience so far. As a fairly ‘young’ person, getting a chance to work among my peers, other ‘young’ people, in a highly professional environment is rare opportunity. It’s no wonder that Internetrix is able to deliver outstanding technology solutions and customer service, with such an intelligent, personable, professional and friendly crew.
