Name: Mark Turnbull

Position Title: Solutions Architect

How long have you been with Internetrix?
Three years.

What drew you to Internetrix as a place to work?
I knew a few of the people at Internetrix before I graduated (it’s never WHAT you know) and explained the type of role I was looking for and luckily when I graduated an opening was available. The team is young and dynamic, and Internetrix is a fun and ever-changing place to work. Being a part of a small company affords me experience that I would never have gotten with some of the larger companies I was considering.

How has your role evolved or changed since your earlier days at Internetrix?
I first came on in a technical support role, which involved answering calls to help clients that were experiencing difficulties with our products. This gave me a good technical background to the products, so that I really understood the mechanics of how they worked. As things evolved, I have moved into a broader range of customer service roles, which has eventuated in my current role.

What does your current role involve?
My role covers client service in projects from end-to-end. That means I fill a sales role, then often consult based on our solutions and how they can help a business. During the development part of the project I am the project manager and client liaison, and then I also train clients on the solutions we deliver. So my role essentially ranges throughout a project. The variety of roles keeps things interesting.

What’s your most memorable or satisfying experience at Internetrix?
The opportunity to travel has been fantastic. So far I have been all over Australia as well as to New Zealand and Hong Kong on business. Spending a week at one of the world’s largest tradeshows in Hong Kong was a blast, and getting to see parts of Queensland and Victoria while on business has been great. Hopefully Internetrix’ continued expansion will result in more opportunities to travel.

What’s the best part of being a member of the Internetrix family?
The team here knows how to have fun. The group of people we have here are all mates outside of work. We have organised ski trips, days at the races, nights out on the town, and the atmosphere in the office reflects this.

What are you looking forward to in the future at Internetrix?
Internetrix has changed significantly since I joined. We have grown from six to 12 people, have made some amazing improvements in our products, and matured to a point where we are competing head to head with some of the world’s largest software providers. There are some really exciting things ahead for our business management products like Affinity and Gravity. The interesting part for me is in exploring the range of businesses that we get to meet, and the unique stories that each one has.
