Internetrix is thrilled to announce the launch of revamped entertainment website, Wollongong Nightlife. Created for the RDL Group, the portal boasts links to five of Wollongong's most well-known entertainment venues: Glasshouse Tavern, Bourbon Street, Rusty's, Abbey's and The Harp Hotel.
“We needed to fix up the original site as it was not updated regularly,” said Wollongong Nightlife Managing Director Lou Ristov. “We wanted to keep people interested in the business and we knew this could be accomplished through an updated website.”
Drawing interest to the site is exactly what Internetrix helped Wollongong Nightlife do. Since its initital launch in May traffic has increased dramatically. In July alone Wollongong Nightlife had over 100,000 visits, with visitors staying around for a while and registering over 300,000 page requests per day. The numbers remain steady, and the inclusion of a regular email promotion program has delivered a tangible return on investment as the venues move into their traditionally busy summer period.
Both Wollongong Nightlife and Internetrix feel the websites popularity stems from how well it serves the needs of its target audience—the hotel patrons. Plus, the site provides a way for Wollongong Nightlife to give something back to its faithful customers.
Check out some of the new fun features:
· Photo Gallery: “The gallery is the biggest driving force to the site,” Lou exclaimed. Updated on a regular basis, the photo gallery module displays the previous night’s party photos. Enrolled site members can even email the shots to their friends. How fun!
· What’s On Calendar: This funky feature allows site visitors to click on calendar days to see what’s scheduled. The calendar highlights events ranging from drink specials to guest DJs.
· E-Alerts: Internetrix Connect sends email and SMS alerts to notify patrons of upcoming and special events so they don’t miss a second of the action.
And the newly designed site attracts more than just patrons. Subtle Flash movement enhances the site’s interactivity and provides a funky, modern, professional aesthetic that has helped Lou draw well known DJs to his venues.
“Email skins have increased brand recognition,” Lou said. “People get an email from me and see the links [to the hotels] at the top and go directly to the site. They see we’re not just your average Wollongong pub.”
Best of all, site maintenance is simple. Using Freestyle, Lou can easily manage all text, links and downloadable files, while photographers simply ‘drag and drop’ photo gallery images into a designated folder that automatically uploads them to the site. This includes automatically resizing and linking the images straight from his digital camera – for a self confessed ‘luddite’, it couldn’t be much easier!
