Welcome to the final edition of our monthly newsletter for 2004. You could be forgiven for thinking that you’d only just received one of our newsletters – given the shorter ‘work’ month of December, it has actually only been about 2 weeks since our last dispatch – and a lot has happened since then!

Firstly, a couple of weekends ago we moved into our new office. This move represents a massive upgrade for us, and came just in time, because we also took on a new full-time staff member, Tim Lawson, Solutions Architect. We’ve got more info in this update about these two changes, including a map of the new location on our website, and a preview of our up-coming, highly anticipated seminar series.

In terms of wider news, there’s been some pretty disturbing activity this month, with Federal Parliament passing amendments to the Copyright Act which will give US companies the right to issue 'take down' notices to Internet Service Providers. This will force companies like us to shut down client websites without evidence or recourse, other than the courts – if you're a bit worried about this, check out the story below.

We've also got another new project to announce, with the Southern Councils Group choosing Nucleus to drive its extensive knowledge extranet, and we've also got a really helpful tip on how you can put Google to work for you through their alerts service.

On a practical note, Internetrix will be closed from the afternoon of the 22nd of December, and will re-open for business on the 4th of January. Our datacentre and hosting systems will continue to be monitored 24/7 during this period.

Of course, as we wind down for another year, we'd like to thank all of our clients and supporters that have made 2004 another successful year for Internetrix. We've grown at more than 30% this calendar year, helped a record number of clients achieve new levels of success, and we're looking forward to a big 2005. We'd like to wish you, your families and your staff a happy Christmas and New Year, and we look forward to talking to you early next year!
