1. Submitting your URL to Google


The simplest way to get your website to show up in Google's search results is to directly submit your URL to Google. This can be done by visiting www.google.com/addURL/ and entering your URL, as well as any comments that you would like to let Google know. The comments actually have no affect on determining which keywords are associated with your page, so it is optional. Google asks to only provide your top-level domain such as www.example.com rather than www.example.com/index/examplepage, as the Googlebot will crawl through your website traversing each hyperlink from your homepage.

This technique has been argued to be the least effective method of getting your website indexed. This is not only because of the comment from Google website which says "We do not add all submitted URLs to our index, and we cannot make any predictions or guarantees about when or if they will appear, but also because it is argued that in terms of search engine result ranking
